Headlight problems

My 06 TLs headlight seems to be going out? when i turn them on they look fine for a few seconds then the light dims to a pink color? a tech where my wife works (local Honda dealer) said that it might be the ballaster
Any ideas whats the fix? i have an extended warranty but Acura told my wife it only covers certain components?

It's either the headlight bulb or the ballast.
You do not need to fix this at the dealer since they will charge you a ridiculous amount for such an easy job.

Find someone local to help you out if you do not know how to change either of these items.

Pink light means that your bulb has reached the end of it's light. To confirm you can swap the bulb from the other side over and see if it's pink and vice versa.

If you do end up needing a new bulb, your best bet is to buy a good QUALITY set of bulbs (replace in pairs) such as the OSRAM CBI bulbs or the Philips 85122+ bulbs.

Definitely the bulb "pink eye" is your warning. If it were a ballast problem your lights wouldn't turn on at all.

You will also need a Security Torx #20 bit, available from Autozone, etc.

i followed a diy here and borrowed a t20 torx bit from my friend....and when i got to my headlights, it wasnt t20!! i had to improvise and use a small flathead to get the screw out, afterwards i used a regular philips screw to replace it.
