Headlight peeling??
#3
The Headlights are sealed with UV resistant coating that is supposed to protect the headlight from the elements. It is not uncommon for this coating to peel after just few years. Sand and road salt are particulary harsh on the coating. I suspect the heat from the HIDs are an issue-as mine started peeling in front of the bulbs.
Where the UV resistant coating peels-the underlying plastic oxidizes quickly. Most of us use products like Mequiars PlastX or similar products to polish the areas that have oxidized. Unfortunately this only lasts a short time-I apply everytime I wash and wax (takes a minute to wipe on and buff).
Some body shops can remove the headlights, buff off the failed UV resistant coating, and apply a new coating. Unfortunately, the average consumer cannot buy the UV coatings-as they are most expensive and require special promoters to properly adhere to the surface.

I used the 3M kit on my 04 TL to resolve the yellowing issue that most headlights encounter. This is simple to do but just do not go crazy with the sand paper at a high rpm or you will have issues> Once done correctly they will look good as new!
