Handsfree Link Booting Up

Handsfree Link Booting Up
Hi, recently I noticed that my 07 Acura TL Handsfree link just froze up and stuck on the "Booting Up". I searched this forum about the basics for troubleshooting it, for example removing the fuse box for 10-15 seconds to reset the bluetooth and reconnect it. but I couldn't find what fuse box # to pull out? Also, I read the manual and it doesn't say it there either Here are the stuff that I want to try as a basic troubleshooting before I take it to the dealer.
1) Pull out the fuse and reconnect it. But what's the fuse # that I need to pull out?
2) Disconnect and reconnect the HFL module at the sunroof. I'm not sure exactly how to do this. lol any ideas?
Anything else I need to try aside from items 1 & 2? Thanks in advance for the help

Some dealer parts departments are now quoting HFL module prices at $220 instead of $600+ too.
I bought the HFL and installed it this Sunday after the original stopped working and displayed "booting up"--except in hot weather!-- last week. The new, and cheaper, HFL works perfectly to date.

Big plans not enough $$$
- use a valve adjustment feeler gauge (available at any car parts store) and insert it in the surround of the sunroof switch- pull lightly downward and it will dislodge the switch- unplug it and remove it.
- then, pull down the light assembly (releases with light pressure downward)- you don't need to unplug the light harness.
- now visible are 4 8mm bolts- take these out and the whole trim piece will come down. The HFL is on the side of the bezel that faces the ceiling of the car. 3 #10 torx screws hold the HFL cover in place.
Removal can be done in <5 minutes.

So far I am able to do the first two items. This part I am not sure how to do. Is the HFL module in the light assembly? if you have pictures to show how it looks like I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Oh, and if you buy the HFL module now, it comes with the plastic bezel so that you do not need to deal with any Torx screws.

Thanks soo much. The instructional PDF is very helpful.
Where else can I buy the HFL module? I checked OEMAcuraparts. com and acura of peoria website, unfortunately they don't have them.

It's in the "Interior Light" section of the drop-down menu if you need a different color to match the TL's interior.
Every dealer will able to order it, since it's a Honda part-- the difference is how much it would cost.

I just got my 07 TL-S windows tinted, and on return of the vehicle all the little top dash screen says where info for songs and whatnot is usually displayed says is "HF Link". When I hit the audio button it displays the diagram of the steering wheel explaining what the two HFL buttons do. I can't change it to my stereo to listen to music, all I can do is view that screen and the Navigation.
Is this the same problem listed in the OP? I didn't want to make a new thread for it. But I am not sure if this is considering "stuck in booting up". I can still connect to my HFL with bluetooth just fine, and use it like I usually would. But even when disconnected I can't turn my stereo on, and I can't use voice commands with my Navigation. It is almost as if it is stuck waiting for an HFL command...but pressing back doesn't do anything.

I have a 07 TL-S and have had my HFL out of commission for the past year, (the dealer wanted 850.00 for the repair/replacement)
I finally caught up with the threads and found out that the HFL unit has dropped in price (~200) at oemacuraparts.com
I ordered the part and installed it, and i still have problems.
The HFL unit itself looks like it's operating, I no longer get that "Booting Up" notification in the MID, and when I press the talk button, "Main Menu" is displayed.
But the mic DOESN'T WORK!!!!
I tried swapping the mic from my old HFL unit, and that didn't work either.
Any ideas?

Also, the bulletin thing says that if your unit is manufactured before 8-18-04 then simply replace, else call the number. Is there a potential that my unit is OK since the date is '05?
Also... since it's a Nav car and there's the delay thing on the back of the in-dash unit, do those typically need replaced as well?
Lastly, I measured amp draw at the battery after leaving the cable off for about 15 minutes, it was 330mA. Seems little higher than the 260 or so most of you guys mention. Do I have something else going too?

Yes I have the same problem.
Just wondering with ^ I too have the NAV model.
On the bulletin it states (2) different HFL with navi and without.
Also does the Delay box need to be changed as well?

I actually pulled the board out of the black jacket and stuck it in the oven. 385F for 8 minutes followed by a 25 minute cool down. I then inspected for any damage caused by the baking and found none visible. Threw it all back together and in the car and now it\s working again like a brand new. don't wast your $600 at the dealer for a replacement

My guess is that by heating up the board, it heats up the solder between components reestablishing connections that may be slightly disconnected. My wife thought is was weird too until I showed her that it fixed my TL.
