"Grinding" sensation in gas petal.

I don't think anything is grinding, but that's the only way I can describe the sound and feeling of my gas petal. Every time I'm at a complete stop, I press on the gas I hear a grinding / clunking sound... but after 900RPM it stops all together. It's consistant if I hold the brake + gas and keep it at a steady 900rpm.

Also, when I'm pushing the petal at a steady / constant force (very lightly, just to keep the car maintaining a constant speed), the gas petal makes this same vibration / grinding sensation ... it's really really annoying.

Any ideas?

oo.. i had this problem before.. couldn't figure it out but it happened after i ran over an island (divider in the neighborhood with plants... don't ask)

but yea.. definately try to get it checked out.
when we jacked up my car, everything looked fine.. checked the suspension.. piping and everything.. the one thing that might have caused the problem for me was the ripped under plastic part of my car..

Don't know.. did you run over anything recently?

It's been doing it for awhile, probably 3 months ago. I haven't run over anything huge .. or I would have remembered it hehe.

I have the same issue on my 07 base.

I also had that issue due to worn bushings and failing axles on my 99 maxima. I do sometimes hear popping when steering all the way to the stop when going out of my driveway on a cold morning, so the axles are a very close culprit.

got the TL as an upgrade and lo and behold, the same little nitpicky issues are inherent in this car too.
