got a hisser

so i removed my intake silencer and resonator. it sounded great and all in the first week and a half. but now when i push the throttle, i get a hissing sound from the engine. is this from removing the silencer and resonator or is it like a loose airbox filter.

Three things:

1) Highly recommend that you post this same question in the "Performance Parts & Modifications" section because people there have lots, lots of expereince with this situation.

2) Really doubt the hissing is from a loose fitting. The intake filter box does not produce a vacuum strong enough to produce a hissing like a vacuum leak. I speculate the hissing is natural noises produce by the intake track. The resonator was doing it's job to elimanate these strange, natural intake noises. But, without the resonator now... well you know...

3) Recommend that you double check your work just to make sure that the filter is properly sealing inside the box. You don't want to risk sucking dirty, unfiltered air.
