Getting Some Things Done!!!

Hey Guys, So i am getting some things done on my girls 05 TL 6 speed. I order everything and it all came in today, 2 new front axles, clutch kit, flywheel and slave cylinder. The car gets dropped off to the dealer next friday to get all work done. I read about the check valve delete on the slave cylinder and it sounded tempting. I recently just changed my clutch and flywheel on my TL as well. So today i took apart the new slave cylinder and took out the check valve. By the way, it was pretty easy. So once my girls Tl gets done, i will see how the clutch will feel and that will determine if i will order a new one for me and do the same...Here is a quick pic of the slave cylinder with the check valve out...

My local dealer was busting me for well over that.

Are they quoting you 10hrs labor?

I believe they said its about a 9 hour job. But when i had my clutch on my TL done at the same dealer, they had my car for like 4 days. They said they ran into some difficulties. It didnt bother me since i had a loaner...

I'd like to have your dealer near me. They are quoting you under $100/hr on labor.

My local dealer charges over 100/hr.....................

I can't believe your dealer is doing the axles and what not all under 1K.
They are quoting me extra 2hrs for my ball joints.

Blue-Is that plastic looking thing the checkvalve? Just curious as I was wondering what to look for or remove if I wanted to do this mod.

Ok, so we picked up the car today and let me tell you, what a difference. That check valve delete is worth every bit. The shifts are smoother and more precise. No more hesitation between shifts..Its so worth. Now that i know what it feels like, im calling up bruce and ordering a new slave cylinder and doing the check valve delete...

Did you have to cut part of it away to remove the ring?
Does this also address the delay between first and second?
I usually have to delay the shift from 1-2 to smooth it out.

No, i did not have to cut anything. I used a small flat heat and it came out really easy. Yes, this mod does fix the delay between first and second. I know exactly what you are talking about. I have that issue as well and also my girl had that issue. I drove the car home from the dealer and that is the first thing i noticed and i was so happy, lol. You will not be dissappointed with doing this..

So, after driving the car a while, i noticed the clutch feeling funny and catching really high than what it was when i first picked it up. I looked underneath and noticed there was fluid leaking. I called acura up rite away and told them and they told me to bring it in. They gave me a loaner while they looked at it. Couple hours later, they called and said the clutch master is no good...WTF....So now i gotta spend another $400 to get it fixed...What a nightmare....
