gas mileage problem help!!

I saw a decrease in fuel mileage after i did muffler and resonator deletes. can that be the cause of my gas mileage sucking? i didn't replace the resonator just straight piped. i have an 04 tl 70k miles. Any information on how to check any other things that might cause this will be appreciated thanks.

This is most likely caused by being a little heavier on the "go" pedal so you can hear the sweet exhaust...

Just from experience, nobody i have known has ever had an increase in gas mileage with straight pipes, or even stayed the same, it always decreases. Anyone willing to do that type of mod, obviously wants to show it off...

Mine went down a point or two after installing pre-cats/j-pipe/race pipe and pulley. It's solely based on keeping my foot in it more. If I really restrain myself I can still get what I was before...but it's so hard to test!

I did a straight pipe with a small vibrant resonator. I agree that you put your foot in it more and as a result see a decrease in mileage, but if I'm careful, I still get decent mileage - though my high is only 29 on a long cruise - but that's pretty good, or so I thought. You can always employ some of the "hypermiling" techniques like coasting a lot to boost mpg, but the car sounds too sweet not to step on it.
