Frozen Rear Lower Control Arm
From the searching I've done it's not worth it to get the bolt out just easier to buy a new arm, bolt, nut, and whatever else is needed.
Went to get an alignment and not happening. Guess this is a common issue. Anyone know the part number for the right rear lower arm and bolt? I have a 2006 Base TL. Thank you! |
I'm in the same boat. I just got my alignment done, but they can't adjust rear control arms because the nut is seized. The part number:
Rear control arm is: 52360-SEP-A01 Bolt is: 52387-SDA-A00 |
Thank you very much. That was huge. I bought the bolt, cam washer and self-locking nut this afternoon for $27. Crazy Massachusetts taxes. With roads being better suited for horse and buggy here one would think the suspension would have rattled apart, not frozen up. I wonder if the suspension travel being theoretically decreased because of my yellow Koni Sport shocks tightened to the max if that might have something to do with it. The arms have very little movement as it’s extremely firm (but fun cornering). I also have the springs on the lowest perch which drops the car about 1/2” to 3/4”. Could be a bogus theory. I’m going to order the control arm tomorrow and then the real fun begins. I don’t have an acetylene torch so I’m worried this is going to be difficult. I might buy an air hammer and use that after heating up the bolt with propane, the best I can do. Goodyear said they would align my car for free since they couldn’t complete the service last week. Right now the wheel has 0.31 degrees toe so I’m 4 times outside positive limit. |
:what:
that's a lot of tire wear  |
