front tires feel unstable at high speeds??

I purchased an 06 TL with about 80K miles on it. Car funs fine but ive noticed at high speeds say 85+ mph the front tires feel wobbly, nothing obvious , its a very subtle feeling of instability. almost feels bouncy. My steering wheel is firm and doesnt shake? any ideas what this might be? whats the half life of factory shocks/struts? whens a good time to replace them? tx in advance

No specific time to replace shocks/struts, only when they go bad. Did you check the air pressure or tread for uneven wear? 80K is nothing for suspension components.

Which potenzas? What size? What cold air pressure is in each of your 4 tires? How much tread depth is left on each tire. Any uneven wear on any tire? When was the last time tires were rotated/balanced? When was the last time alignment was checked?

Could be a control arm bushing. See this thread:

Well, no offense, but that may be your problem. If you don't even know what your tire pressure is......How do you expect us to help you?

Check each of your tire sidewalls-- it will have the maker, model designation and size molded onto the tire. Make sure they all are the same size and model of tire.

Check your tire pressure when the car is cold, using either the TPMS readout (see the owner's manual for this if you do not know how to use the MID displays) or a tire gauge. What is the cold tire pressure?

I'd also check to make sure the treads are oddly cupped or worn in a different way.

Could you just need them balanced? or would he have vibrations in the steering wheel if it was unbalanced tires?
