Front, driver side axle assembly

Hey all,

Have a bent front, driver side axle. I've never had any related issues before. Looking to order it and have it installed. I checked oemparts but nothing seems to be under "front axle." Is there a part number anyone has? Any recommendations? It makes that clicking noise whenever turning under load. Does the entire assembly come as one unit? Or am I going to have to order various parts? Thanks AZine!

On acuraoemparts.com, I found all the parts listed under "Driveshaft-Half shaft." That's for my '04 TL AT. O'Reilly Auto shows the same parts for $60-70. I guess it's up to you, but I don't think I'd pay $240 for the same part. Rebuilt is rebuilt. 4x the price for OEM ain't worth it to me.

good deal! i'll look into both. so question: you have to get one of everything under the category? are the axles the same for both sides? there's no designated left or right side?

jk, sounds like they're different. but i wonder if there's another culprit to the clicking noise while turning? am i just purchasing the assembly?

The assembly is the easiest. You could rebuild the outer joint yourself, but that's something I haven't ever had any experience with. As far as I know, the clicking-while-turning sound is most likely the outer CV joint. What year and how many miles on your TL??

Replace the whole cv axle/half shaft & be done with it. O'rielly's usually has some with a lifetime warrenty.
They'll go a long time (20k miles or so) just clicking on turns if the rubber boot is not torn open.

Rock Auto has new assemblies, $50.79 each side, but then there will be shipping on top of that.
