Foul smell when I have exterior air circulation turned on with AC fan running
I have a 05 TL and last time when I drove it, I started to get foul smell. I tried to find out why its doing, but no results. All I was able to find out was that, I get foul smell when I have the exterior air circulation turned ON along with AC fan. If I have the vent turned off there is no foul smell.
The smell is not from the surroundings as well as I tested it driving with my windows rolled down.
Did anyone had to go through similar situation? Pleas help!

I have noticed this smell (similar to vomit) a few times, and think it is due to stale water remaining in the AC evaporator case. It is an off and on occurence with my TL-S - mostly off. Running the heater on high for a few minutes before engine shut off should temporarily cure the smell.
Check to see if your AC evaporator is draining properly by looking behind the front passenger side tire when the engine is running and the AC is on. You should see water dripping from this area if the drain is functioning properly. It not, then it is possible that your evaporator drain is clogged.

i have the same problem with my 05 TL... i thought maybe it was musty from the old driver, but ive had it for 2months now and it hasn't gone away... granted WI has only permitted me a few opportunities to use the AC, but it still wont go away... I sprayed axe in the vents so the next time i turned on the AC i might smell that... didnt work

lol axe, interestin concept but that stuff doesnt last long enough.
So was your issue after a hard acceleration? if so it may be due to the cat converter.. have you tried different fuels from different places?

Mildew!!
I have a similar problem. It has yet to be fully resolved by acura. It happens when you turn on the AC. Once the AC gets going on recurculate the smell Goes away. Acura told me to used recurculated air for the last ten minutes of my trip. Is that really the solution. I've owned 4 other Honda cars, never have I had mildew build-up in the AC.

I had the same problem in my 05, i changed the filter and it was gone. I will change to the recirc for the last few mins and see if that helps anything. If not its back to the dealer after they have already had it for 2 weeks almost!
thanks for the heads up
