Fog Lights Q!

Ok I jus wandering, for the stock foglights on a 05 TL, is There a way where u can have ur stock foglights go on with the parking lights. I dont understand why they only go on when u turn on headlights. I see camry, the newer civic etc. that they can do that, but why not a TL. Soo Does anybody know if there is way u can. thanks

Here's a link to related question..

Basically.. this is an old question since '04 and nobody has proven or shown a way to do it. As an electrical engr, I believe it is not improbable and just needs some logic modification.

Basically your DRL / HID / PL are all segmented.. as I understand the control logic unit gets the input from you light stalk telling it what to put on and it only allows one output.. but if we logically tied a simple logic circuit we could rework the system how we would like. I'll take a look at the circuit diagram tonight and try to advise some tips.

I'm probably going to try something similar since I bought my TL used and the previous owner has cut-outs on the bottom lip for fogs but no fogs.

btw.. what island are you on.. big island?

I did this when I had my Maxima and it was fairly easy. Two different cars, I know, but my point is I would be more interested in it if I had either Accord fogs or a '07-'08 with the fog lights not integrated with the headlights. Having them on with the park lights on my '05 would look too much like daytime running lights. No thanks.

I grad from UH-Manoa.. worked out on the big island for a few months in Waimea with Keck Obs.. I was shocked when I was working and Mike Aina stepped in, didn't know he was working at Keck, it was right after he knocked out this Haole kid for talking trash prefight.. lol.. I moved out to Texas after grad for work. I miss the Big Island.. especially Ken's Sumo Loco Moco.. lol.

Hey.. you ever take your TL through Saddle.. that must be mean.. you probably love your TL too much.. but I remember the rides.. I drove in a FJ Cruiser one time up the mountain and back to Waimea.. real easy with the independent suspension.. If you don't have any rattles before the cruise I'm sure you'd have some coming back though.

Take it easy D-Dubz and I'll try to get back to you on how we may be able to bypass the logic control unit. It would be a pretty mean setup.. Otherwise.. most people just do it the easy way and install a switch in the empty slot for their fogs.. We'll figure it out.. Shoots..

OHHH YEAH Saddle Road, the Best place to really test ur car on how it handles, u have noo idea how fun it is goin on that road. I had a RSX Type S b4, n my Tl handles way better then the RSX. the VSA def. makes a different when hanging turns, launching the car. good fun. I think ill just stick to the stk fog lights, dont wanna make things worse on the car since i just got it. but if u do find a way lemme know. have a good one mojofo.
