engine noise poll
 

I would like to see how many tl's make the same noise as mine? If you start your car after it sits for about 5 to 8 hrs let it idle untill idle starts to drop below 1000rpms then raise rpms to approx 1300 to1500rpms, do you hear a slight rapping noise? It has to be performed with your door open, and in a quiet area to hear it. Will give info to acura to see if they Know about this. Also I called acura dealer today and let them know adjusting valves did not help stop the noise.I would appreciate any feedback I can get . Just concerned about any long term effects this rapping noise is going to have. Thanks!

I hear a similar noise when I hit 2100 to 2500 rpm, this only happens when I'm driving. I'm going to take it for service to see what it is.

i posted on a different thread about the ticking in my engine. i had everything checked out by acura and they told me that it was normal and not to worry about it. they sadi when the service comes when they adjust my valves, it may reduce the noise slightly but they told me all honda/acura engines have a slight ticking to them. i still havent gotten the chance to listen to another TL to compare it too yet.
