Engine/ belt Noise: Video link attached

Well, I've been dealing with this noise for months now and it's really hacking me off. I changed the serpentine belt and power steering pump back in march hoping that it would fix this atrocious sound, to no avail. From reading around I'm guessing it might be the timing belt tensioner? But I wanted to get a second opinion before I ordered any parts and brought it to the shop.

Here's the link:

take off the serpentine belt, and start the car up.
yes, you will trigger some dash lights but you can then eliminate the pullies, idler ( even power steering pump...but you spent the money anyway ) as the cause of this noise.

it does sound on par with the timing belt tensioner
check out this vid

Yeah +1, take off the serp belt and see if it goes away. But that vid of the timing belt tensioner is pretty damning. Sounds exactly the same as your car.

Mine sounds pretty similar and it's annoying I can hear it from inside the car.

Does the noise dissipate as the car warms up?

I have a similar noise that goes away completely when warmed. My mech says the oil is not getting pumped to the top as efficiently or something like that.

Your noise is probably valvetrain noise.

The noise in the video(s) above is almost definitely the timing belt tensioner. Cheap enough part, just a PITA to fix.

It's that much worse when you get it fixed, and then in less than 4 months the thing screws up AGAIN!
