Driver's side carpet always wet (PICTURE)
Hi everyone,
My driver's side carpet is ALWAYS wet ! It's not smelling anything, looks like it's water. From where the heck is this coming from ?
Here's a picture, it's always wet at the same spot, never changes.
Anyone ever figured this out, the car is a 2007 TL.
Thanks!

Could possibly be the sunroof drain...my the drain tube that runs down the a pillar in my X5 got kinked up and water would "back up" and ended up flowing down the a pillar down to the dead pedal and end up quite similar to your "puddle". Just something to check.

Maybe check underneath the car, make sure there isn't a hole.

Check the AC condensation drain tube under the car. Its probably clogged with a dead spider, causing the AC water to go into the cabin. Just need to blow some compressed air to clean it out.

Where is this tube at? I have looked in the manuals that I have and have not been able to find it. Did you ever find the source of your leak?

The A/C drain hose is on the passenger not the drivers side. It's tied with the PCM frying issue in the link below.

As for the driver's side, people already mentioned to check the sunroof drain tubes. Pour some water from a cup into the left side drain holes in the room with sunroof open. Make sure they are draining to the ground under wheel well area. You can also smell or feel the liquid if it was coolant. Check the firewall area too. I ended up taking my driverside door pad off and resealing everything.

Thanks for the response. I completed all those things with the exception of the drains hose. I pulled the carpet up poured water down the sunroof drain watched it leak onto the garage floor nothing came down the footwell. Then i soaked the windshield too. Nothing. I am at a loss right now as of what else I can do. I know its not anti because when i felt the liquid and smelled it. You discovered that your driver side door was leaking into your driver side footwell?

So I did that and ran the car for 30 mins to an hour with the A/C on to make sure the drain was working properly after. Hasn't come back since.

So my best bet here is to pull up the passengers side carpet to locate this drain tube? Is there a way/place to look for this underneath the car or a genreal area in which this tube usually dangles from? I looked at the diagram and i believe #24 is the tube? Thanks for the guidance guys.

Do you ever get scared when you drive? Could be some bodily liquids.

Pic of the AC drain tube is like the hunt for the holy grail. It doesn't help that it is 9* outside and about 5 inches of snow. I have looked everywhere for this pic

When it warms up tomorrow I am going to look at the drain valve and see what turns up. Ill run my car for 25 mins with the ac on after i check to see if it is draining and if it is. They it could only be the windshield or something on the firewall.

I pulled the drain tube out it, did not appear that there is anything lodged in it. Pulled it out of the firewall looked pretty clean and clear. I tried looking for it under the car and it could not find it so I decided to pull the carpet up that seemed easier to me. Spider when you say that you blew compressed air through the tube did you do it from the bottom or is there another entry point for the blowing out technique. I have no pic to post of the drain tube from the firewall because I could not find it while laying underneath the car.

Good news/bad news. Good new is that it is not the evap. tube. I just want to preface this when i first discovered the wet carpet issue i ran the old sunroof drain test. I poured water down each drain and it drained to the bottom of the car to the ground. I was content with those results. Therefore I thought the only possible option was the evap. tube. When I discovered this was not the case i pulled the carpet back on the drivers side to see if I could find moisture etc, i did not. After pouring about 3 64oz cups of water down the tube i was able to get some water to come into the interior down the drivers side. The water seems to be coming in around the kick panel but I can't determine where because of the sound deadening material. I have tried to find a thread that shows or discusses the exit of the drainage tube. Does anyone have any advice? Is replacing this tube difficult? Any tips for accessing the drainage tube/tip?

Driver's side kick panel, near the fuse box? If so, I believe one of the sunroof drain tubes is near there. Pretty sure there is a thread discussing that tube. IIRC, at least one person had the under dash fuse box fried because of that...

That was the first thought that came to my mind. Not much I can do today. I located some threads but most seem to dead end or with no final solution being posted.
I just could not seem to locate this under the car from where the water was pouring out.
