Driver side clunk

I kno this has been covered but i had installed my isc coilovers and they are 5mm preloaded. My problem is my driver size clunks on certain bumps and imperfections and when driving through a street gutter. Weird thing is it goes away after about 40mph it makes no clunk at all no matter the size of bump or dip. Im confused. But when i did install my driver side coilover instead of the whole suspension hanging down once u removed the strut, it shot up and almost took out my face. Any help would b great thanks

I would swap the coil overs from right to left to see if it's to coilovers. If nothing changes then you may be looking into a bad compliance bushing. When u removed the old strut and spring u said it shot apart. That may have destroyed the compliance bushing?

But the fact u say it goes away after 40 mph sounds like the issue I am having in my rear. And I think it's the coilovers cause I get a clunking almost as if there is no bushing and then once I hit 40 mph it's gone like yours.

But I assume my situation is rare and my coilovers are 5 years old at least now. So I would inspect every pivot point on the loud side. And if you find nothing. Swap coilovers from side to side. Then if there is no change its gotta be something in the suspension on that side..

When u are swapping coilovers is the best time to scrutinize all the pivot points. Yank, pull, twist everything and compare each side to one another.

When i removed my old strut that had lowering springs on them instead of the suspension shooting down it shot up. Then i couldnt get the strut out so i had to remove the hub fron the upper control arm to get the okd strut out. That didnt happen on the passenger side and the whole front as jacked up in the air
