After having my front bumper replaced the guy at the shop said he also saw a dent on this horizontal plastic piece and that it would cost 600$ to fix it. does it really cost this much? is it possible to buy this piece and replace it yourself?

Any of those grill peices can be replaced fairly easily (requires bumper removal, iirc), but the parts price is MUCH less than $600.

Umm yea that should take like 5 mins to change out. I took mine off just to see how difficult it would be to get it shaved because I was bored one day and curious. But if you want I'll do it for half the price and buy the part lol. But no seriously you can do it yourself. The only tricky part is there is a little black plastic clip on the bottom side of the hood through a opening. Be careful with that but remove the 4 10mm bolts 1st and then carefully unclip it and off it will come.
