Dashboard just started cracking

2006 Acura TL

Ive been expecting this to happen, and today it finally did after 13 years. I’m bummed. I’ve searched the forum, but here’s my question: is there anything I can do now to slow the cracking? Glue? Anything? Or should I just let it run it’s course?

I can’t bring myself to replace it in a car this old. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with catching it earlier. Here’s the photo:

Got to watch what you apply as the air bag resides under the cover.

Get a dash cover like I did.

It does suck. Especially if you take care of the car, and take precautions.

I plan on getting the coverlay dash cover, like Gatrhumpy did. It looks the best of any of the offerings for our model.

His link to his experience with the coverlay....

Try not blasting your A/C when the car has been sitting in the heat.

Ive seen many TL dashes in the PNW. Never a crack.

Obviously didn't search that hard. :tomato:

Not much you can do. It has begun. Mine started 2-3 years ago over on the driver's side and just slowly grew since then to cover the entire dash. I still wipe my dash down monthly and then hit it with 303.

It is going to get a lot WORSE!

I would just replace it if it bothers you that much. It looks like quite a lot of work.
