i've got a creaking sound when i turn the wheel while the car is stopped. the sound comes from the passenger side of the engine bay. weird thing is that sometimes the creaking sound will continue for a couple seconds after the wheel has stopped being turned too.

i know you're not supposed to turn the steering wheel while the car's not moving, but this is the easiest way to hear the problem. any idea what it might be? something in the steering rack?

to clarify, if the car is stopped or moving really slow i can hear a creaking or grinding sound when i turn the wheel. i had an indy guy look at it and he said it's the power steering pump. i just had the power steering pump replaced under warranty 9 months ago so i'm going to take it back to the stealer and see.

Sounds like your power steering. If it creaks / whines when stopped it's your p/s.. check for any leaks out of the pump. Check the reservoir to make sure you're not low on fluid.

turned out to be the serpentine belt tensioner. if anyone else is having this problem here are the parts that they replaced on my car:

91345-rda-a01 13x1mm o-ring
91370-sv4-000 14.4x1mm o-ring
04317-rca-305 tensioner set
