Cracked Windshield
I got a crack on my windshield and thinking about taking it to the dealer to get it fixed. Anyone know how much it would cost roughly? I was thinking of going to those mobile windshield companies but I read somewhere that the TL windshield have some noise reduction in it?

the dealer calls a mobile glass place and then charges you 30 percent extra for their trouble
Fixed? If you have a crack thats shorter than a dollar bill, or a chip thats smaller than a quarter, it can usually be ~repaired~ with an expoxy kit-
Several glass companies will come to you and do it for 50 dollars- look in phone book
Call your insurance and ask--- for example Geico- if your have comprehensive with them- will send a place out for Free to attempt the epoxy fix. no claim filed against you and no deductible- if you have 500 deduct like many people- the replacement glass is less than that- so if they want to try and make it better for now...and I dont have to shell out $350!!
the repair involves a diamond tipped dremel to stop the cracks, and then back-cut them like a dentist does to install a crown, then the epoxy.
It worked on mine for 6 months but the glue seems to be wearing out of the cracks
(original cause rock hit) and the wiper blade catches it. bummer
For a full new replacement glass- call your insurance agent and ask who they use.
Then look for a much smaller ad in the phone book, ,,, call around and tell them cash customer
expect 350-(last years price before skyrocketing cost of making and moving everything) to maybe $450 now- my guess
Glass Installers are certified- look for that in the ads
They all go to the same glass supply house for glass- the $15-50 price differance is normal between shops. Its the correct legal safety glass for the TL- dont worry
Good Luck!

Not only will most insurance companies try to fix a cracked windshield for free, many will also replace a cracked windshield for free if the crack is too large to be safely repaired. I just had mine replaced by Nationwide a few months ago. I simply called up my local dealership and asked who they recommended, went there, and was 100% satisfied. Ask the company you choose what brand of glass they use. If they don't use OEM (and most won't without charging you extra) find a place that uses APTech. APTech glass is identical to what Honda/Acura uses -- in fact, it's made in the same factory. But since it says 'APTech' and not 'Honda' it's about $150 less.

that would depend on your actual coverage- on mine- the 500 comp deduct applies to glass replacement- but a repair attempt was free to me.
New glass was 350- so not worth filing a claim and deductible wont even cover the glass cost.
If I had 50 deduct- I want new glass!

I called around a dealership around my area and they quoted me $1125 if I wanted the Honda logo and $550 if I wanted without the logo...the logo costs that much?
I got my car tinted at this shop around my area and the guy actually told me if I wanted any factory parts, let him know and he can get it for cheaper. So I gave him a call and hes going to replace my windshield for $245 installed.
