Could I just be shifting too early?
im getting a slight hesitation only at WOT under or at about 2k rpm I do not do this really ever I was just getting on the freeway the other day and noticed it could I just have been in to high a gear and the car didn’t like it. I can duplicate the issue I just want to make sure it’s me and not the car before having it looked at no check engine light or anything. I also don’t have any issue if I’m above 2500rpms. Thanks all. 08 UA7 6MT.

WOT @ 2K in what gear and mph? (Saying getting onto a highway isn't exactly specific enough. Pennsylvania makes you come to a complete stop before getting onto some highways. NJ you can get onto some around 60-70mph)
2nd gear around 30? No problem.
6th gear around 60? Yea that WOULD be a problem.
Engines HATE high gear + high load (WOT). If acceleration is the name of the game, downshifting into a lower gear will not only have better performance but your engine will also like you better (to a certain extent).
It sounds like you could very easily be in too high of a gear when you're looking to accelerate.
For comparison, I've never been WOT in 4th or higher.

As you stated 6th gear at 60 I’m at about 2k and at WOT it does hesitate a bit. I baby the crap out of this car so I’ve never really had it at wide open, so the first time i did and it was hesitating it freaked me out and I wanted to make sure it was me not the car. But it does do it say in 3rd gear at 2k as well. So I’m just in to high of a gear and to low of rpms it sounds like.

Yea using "WOT" and "baby" in the same sentence is kind of hypocritical lmao, but I know what you mean. 6th gear (and to a certain extent 5th too) is purely for cruising and max mpg's. NOT accelerating!
I was just playing on the highway @ 60, in diff gears. 4th responded very nicely @ 3300rpm's acceleration wise, the perfect compromise between mpg's and performance. If you REALLY wanna have some fun, dropping down to 3rd @ 60 puts the rpm's at 4500 right before vtec, and it goes.... bwwAAAHHHHHHH. But there's honestly no harm at all bringing the engine up to (close) redline. If anything you're doing more harm than good staying in too high of gear/low of rpm, aka "lugging" the engine.
Vtec was designed for a purpose. Don't deny Vtec it's engineered right

Perfect thank you. I will adjust my driving habits to compensate the last thing I want o do is ruin a perfectly running car. I have only had it for a few months and am still getting used to. It’s a big leap from a 91 Accord haha. Thanks again.

Not to keep bringing this up but..... what should my shift points be between gears. In third gear at 2k rpm with my foot not completely at WOT it still seems to jerk a bit tell 2.5k rpms. I am shifting later though, about 3k between gears, but I was driving my wife’s speed three and I know there completely different animals but there was no jerking or hesitation it just didn’t pick up the speed as fast which I would expect in both cars just not there jerking that my type s is doing. I hope that makes since I’m kind of blasting through this.

Drifting
There should be no jerking at all no matter what your shift points are. You should be able to shift as early as 1500RPM up to redline with no jerking. If you are getting bucking when the clutch is already engaged, there are other issues like a misfire or a bad APP sensor. I drive all the time with RPMs never going over 2000RPM when just poking around town.
