Cold air at high speeds, hot air at low speeds

Hey all,

Just got my Acura TL and love it, but I'm not liking being cold during the winter.

With the heater output set to Hi, I get lukewarm air at anything over about 40 mph. The outside temp is usually below 30. When I drive in the city at lower speeds I get toasty warm air. I have checked coolant levels, the heater control valve on the fire wall, and don't hear any noises from the heater core or any switches.

Please help so I can be warm again.

Have you checked whether your thermostat is stuck open?

Does the temp gauge fluctuate at all?

Have not checked the thermostat, but was on the list.

Temp gauge comes to operating temp and doesn't move.

Was looking for the possibilities so I could run down my next list and get them checked.

Would a vacuum leak have any influence on the issue?
