Clicking noise when moving from a stop
Clicking noise when moving from a stop
My 2005 5AT TL makes clicking noise whenever I go to move from a stop in either reverse or forward. Just changed out my RF outer tie rod and checked other tie rods/ball joints on the front end but nothing else seemed out of place to be causing this clicking noise. I'm going to be checking it out again after work on Saturday on the hoist and would like some pointers if anyone has had a similar problem
FWIW: Another source, of a "clicking" type noise, can be produced by (STICKING CALIPER ) slider pins. Normally, if the noise, is slider pin related, the clicking, will be heard, on very light, brake application, at low speeds, 5-15 mph, but can also occur, from a stop. When installing pads, and or rotors, MOST Techs., DON'T, take the time, to properly lubricate the sliders!
just replaced my LF axle a bit back so shouldn't be that 1 but ill check out out again after work hours and as for it possibly being from slider pins that could be a possibility cause I bought the car about a year ago but haven't touch the brakes yet. I looked at em when I had the wheels off a few times and they are at about 4mm but do produce a bit of a squeak under light braking. If it is the brakes I'll probly just leave those alone till they wear down a bit more before I replace them. thanks for the pointers
