Changed my clutch but having problems shifting into gear.

Hey guys, so i just got my clutch changed with an fx250 clutchmasters. It doesn't shift smoothly into each gear while its running. My mechanic was telling me that I need to upgrade the clutch slave cylinder because it doesn't enough pressure to disengage the clutch from the transmission because even with the clutch fully pushed down, CSC doesn't have enough force to push the fork that disengages the clutch. I was wondering if there's a performance CSC on the market that has more pressure? I'm new to cars so I'm not sure if what I typed made any sense as I'm interpreting what I understand and i don't understand all to well lol

Did the shop sell you on the fx250? If so, man up and tell them to fix the damn thing.

If not, try contacting one of the guys in this thread:

They need to adjust the pedal because it is not diengaging the clutch as for an upgraded master cylinder you can use an EM2 and delete the clutch check valve in the slave

Not that this has to do with the problem you're having, but did you also have them put in a new flywheel when they did the clutch? I speak from 1st hand experience when I say that!

im still using the oem fly wheel, as it was still in good condition, I just had it resurfaced and cleaned up. I didn’t have the money to buy a new flywheel and couldn’t find one in my area when I had money.

These dual mass flywheels aren't supposed to be resurfaced, just replaced. About $200 from rockauto.

I'm curious, why did you go with the relatively expensive ClutchMasters clutch when the OEM LuK clutch and flywheel are so capable and so inexpensive (relatively speaking).

Ahh ok ok, I didn’t know that. My friend convinced me that if the fly wheel wasn’t in rough shape that it could be reused.

. I guess I didn’t do enough research, as I was going through the forums it seemed like clutchmasters had the best quality, live and learn 😅

Flywheels in general, yes. But your friend obviously didn't know about Dual Mass flywheels as their design is different.

Clutchmasters, Exedy, and most aftermarket clutch kits are merely repackaged LUK's as they were the OEM supplier to Honda/Acura for most of our clutch parts. This repackaging is rampant throughout the auto parts industry with fancier advertising/packaging designed to sucker people in. I think you've learned your lesson for next time.
