CEL P0430 help
Last night i was driving home from work and my CEL came on..on my naciv screen the Check Emissions system P0430 came up..ive done some research and i know it could be either my cat in bank 2 or O2 sensor..my question is which O2 sensor is bank 2 would it be?

Your CAT is under warranty (unless you have more than 80K). Not sure about the O2 sensor. Take it to the dealer and let them fix it hopefully under warranty. If it's the CAT, they should replace it under warranty. If it's the O2 sensor, they may or may not replace it under warranty.

Not sure, but I believe bank 2 refers to the O2 sensors on the 2nd CAT. (Maybe someone smarter on the exhaust system will chime in). Either one of the two O2 sensors is bad or the CAT is bad. The computer takes readings from the O2 sensors (one before the CAT, one after the CAT) to measure the CAT efficiency. If the readings are the same, then it indicates that the CAT is bad/malfunctioning. A P0430 code can be thrown for a few others reasons (e.g. improper voltage to/from the O2 sensor, bad O2 sensor, etc.).

OK, looks like bank 1 is the side connecting to cyl #1. Bank 2 is the other side. Looks like it is the downstream O2 sensor (if it is the sensor). Could still be the CAT (most expensive)

Edit: per the service manual, bank 2 is the front CAT/O2 sensors. So possibly the front CAT is bad or the downstream O2 sensor on the front cat is bad??
Bad gas can cause this. First, I'd reset the code and see if it happens again...
Salvage title...you may indeed be SOL as far as warranty....

Before you reset the code, take it to most any auto parts store and have them read the codes to see if any secondary codes are present.
From the service manual, a p0430 by itself is either a spurious code or a bad front CAT.
If there are additional codes, it could be the upstream (bank 2, sensor 1) A/F sensor/circuit (P153,154,P155) or the downstream (bank 2, sensor 2) O2 sensor/circuit (P157,P158,P159,P161)
