car went into a limp mode action... stuck in park will not start
I was driving home one morning, hopped on the interstate got up to about 40-45mph car seemed like it died out!! All of the lights came on in the dash I switched it into manual mode. applied gas nothing! car was still on no revs or rpms the D indicator was out so I saw no symbol or numbers in the dash. replaced TPS & Neutral Safety Switch car won't turn over at all... maintained oil changes & atf changing! Any help? kind of sounds like it's not getting any fuel

The terminals are new, replaced them in august last year! Battery fairly new purchased.. but i know this battery is not for my car specifically, it's for a newer grand cherokee which I took out a car my family sold. I just got the battery back from advance this morning fully charged.. could that be a problem?

If it has the proper CCA rating and charged properly, shouldn't be a problem.

Day 2, 05 TL Problem help is appreciated
so yes this day two of my only two off days! searching for my problem with my 05 TL, the problems im having is the car turns over but will not start!! while driving home the car cut out around 45-60 mph. It decelerated down to 25mph, causing me to jump into the shoulder without causing any accidents. gave it gas no acceleration or RPMS I put the car into park, before coming to a complete stop! me panicking i grinded it putting it into park. car was cut off next.. all of the dash lights were on! when trying to cut it back on no luck. the car then was stuck in park had the car towed home. tried getting codes ERROR is what i got. before i go the "stealership" route i replaced the neutral safety switch, APP sensor as well.. still no start!! my next method blindly is the FI- relay & main fuse relay I'm having a hard time spotting the main fuse relay need help i have a picture under the steering wheel looking upwards just don't know which is which? pulled out one relay i skeptical on if it's the right one. yesterday someone said directly under the which this one was located. I labeled it with #1 any suggestions it is much appreciated.

Have you replaced the battery or checked the terminals? Something similar happened to me and the positive battery terminal had corroded.
Also no need to open up another thread, updating the last one would have more than sufficed.. Mods will merge shortly.

OH yeah.. forgot you were the dude trying to use a rando battery from another car...
That's why you don't open new threads, it's hard to keep all that info in one place
Pics of battery with new battery terminals?

Ahh one of those crappy auto parts terminals.. I'd suggest replacing the entire harness https://www.oemacuraparts.com/oem-pa...9tYXRpYw%3D%3D

yeah it was a quick fix, i was in another city when I did this surprisingly it has held up. I def am going to change it due the fitment! when i click the vehicle into II i get a click from the middle relay top row this is a positive sign? i do not hear the fuel pump whirl.

That click is most likely the ignition relay, so that's a good sign. Is the car cranking but just not turning on? Or when you turn the key, nothing happens?
If you think it's a fuel issue, I would get a fuel pressure test kit, you can rent one from an Advanced Auto or AutoZone.
Any check engine light show up when it went into limp mode?
If it's the fuel pump, you're in luck, because it's easily accessible from the trunk on these cars. My last car I had to drop the tank, which when the pump died, had 3/4 of a tank in it.
I'd start with the fuel pressure test and go from there.

thanks for the reply! yes it's turning over but not starting. that's my next step this upcoming weekend, I have half 3/4 of gas as well! CEL did come on but it's not throwing any codes unless then OBII reader isn't linking. I was told to pull a fuel line under the hood to see if it's pushing fuel, but that doesn't sound like the safest method to take, so I'll wait it out. I'll get back with any updates. Thanks again

I've had two cars die because of the fuel pump, if I remember correctly, both did not throw codes either. Another way to check the fuel pump is to open the gas cap and see if you can here anything when you are trying to turn the car on.
You shouldn't have to worry about how much gas you have because fuel pump is replaced through the trunk.
If it still isn't turning on after you replace the pump, then obviously something else is wrong. I would check spark as well. Could be a plug or injector has gone bad, but I WOULD expect those to throw a code.

Update! I've gotten the car towed to a shop, they couldn't get any codes either. kind of a waste of 25$ I'm just going to go ahead and replace the fuel pump, i have a question before purchasing one. Is the 05 -07 Honda Accord fuel pump compatable with the 05 Acura TL? if so it would save some money.. but if not I'll just go ahead and purchase the TL pump. Thanks again in advance on the pointers

Throwing parts at an issue like this is almost always the most expensive way of fixing it; that and it can generate knock-on issues. I strongly suggest you take it to a dealership or an otherwise qualified Honda/Acura technician.

Yeah I've figured that now, seeing that none of it helped! I have a question! Worse come worse. Im looking at purchasing a used ECU off of eBay, from reading a few older threads someone has had the similar situation the immobilizer key symbol just keeps blinking. if I were to go that route not saying I am! do i have to take it in to the dealer for the programming?

I haven't, I remember you telling me a while back it could be the battery! I took it in due to it sitting and dying.. they said it had one bad cell but it was still useable I found that weird those advanced auto people tell you anything these days he said it had a full charge etc..

So why haven't you looked at replacing the battery but start tackling all these other red herrings

the battery was relatively new, when i had that battery up at the place charging!!! I took my little brothers 05 Ex Accord's battery still the same thing with all of the new parts installed. so i doubt it's the batter right now!!! I've realized when i reach under the passenger seat it's been wet. for some odd reason! i remember myself driving threw a DEEP ass pool of water which i couldn't tell it was that DEEP and this was weeks ago it's still kind of damp. i have no roof leaks etc! could it be possible for water to get in from beneath any how?

Can a bad battery cause a car to stall?
Truth is, if your battery is going bad, your car will run but you're at risk of stalling out. When your battery is not putting out enough power, the alternator has to work harder to keep the engine running. ... It is the stress on your car's engine that actuallycauses your car to stall out; so it's a domino effect.Aug 31, 2016

I've been asking around, if someone could take a pic of where that main fuse relay is under the steering wheel! not in the kick panel I've searched and looked under there it's just I don't know which one it is! to even pull it out.. to check the circuit board I've used another great in shape battery from a 05 accord ex which still got no luck. my only thing now is taking it in to Acura since I don't want to mess anything up with the fuel system. I've only replaced the fuel pump I've made video of how it sounds I'm thinking "not sure" if the ECU is bad since I did drive threw a pool of water and under the passenger is damp till this day!! I get no code just error this is the video tho I really appreciate your input it's is well needed

Why is the Green Key Light flashing in your Video? Is that a "disabling system"? My 05 does not flash a green Key light when I start my car.

to be honest idk why the key is blinking, i have two key fobs for it.. they both blink when inserted, i didn't want to throw parts again since ive thrown several parts already. i planned on dumping my paycheck into it this upcoming thurs! since the Acura dealership already charges boo koo money for a simple diagnostic. I got no code just a error, so did the mechanic shop around the corner! Had it towed there which was time consuming, slow ass tow companies my insurance covered that so i was happy knowing i didn't have to pay the tow service. I wanted to check that main fuse relay myself before taking it in. that's a easy fix and one of the cheapest if need be! anything fuel related i decided not to mess with since i really don't know what im doing in that area. someone on a older thread said his ECU was fried with the same similar symptoms im having. Not saying that's the problem but its just a thought! I've prepared for the worse taking it into Acura. with me not getting no codes is very hard to say, i know it had the shutter sound when it did die out and never started back up! also the shifter being stuck in park it's very sketchy "for me" i used the override to try starting in N no luck. so it's very hard to pin point anything with no code from my experience with hondas! love this car don't want to give it up so early i really appreciate your help. I'm going to do the main fuse relay check in the AM. will get back to you thanks a lot man!
