Guys,
Today I had a thrill when suddenly in traffic at speed the warning triangle came on, I couldn't get over 30mph!
I had to get across 4 lanes of angry motorists to the shoulder. At idle the RPMs were at 1200, which is a little high.
I shut it off, checked the gas cap and went on my way at normal speed albeit the check engine light. I'm sure that the cap was tight but redid it to be fair.
I cannot find anything wrong, all fluids are okay, battery reads perfectly both running and parked...it is bizarre.
Any guesses? This car has only been in to the shop 2 times in 3 years, so I have an appointment.
I guess the car needs a scan.

The idle is high because of the CEL.. it's running rich to prevent damage from occuring. Did you hear any unusual engine sounds? What about your transmission? Blinking drive light? SS mode enabled? Pull the codes.. hopefully it's nothing major (possibly electrical) but it sounds effed up.

limp mode
put some viagra in the gas tank , fix her right up![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
but seriously, limp mode lets the car drive slowly and safely, just enough so you can get it to the dealer, to get whatever problem is fixed.... IMO, its either some type of bad sensor, or a major engine issue

If you have an auto transmission, put the car in drive and see if the D light is blinking. If it is, there is a transmission issue. If it is not, there is some other sort of issue. Most likely its the transmission with a broken sensor or something.

Guys and Girls,
So I took the car in and they replaced a module that controls the electronic link to throttle on the drive-by wire. This is the mechanism used for the VSA to control the car according to my service rep.
The code was what lead them to the fix and all is well!

Sounds like he's talking about the APP sensor. I've seen a few go out, but not many. Usually occurs in higher mileage TLs (and one or two TSXs). By high mileage I mean over 100k. Quick fix, doesn't take long at all to do. And it can be done with simple hand tools. Forget the cost of the part though. Not cheap, but not too expensive (if I remember correctly).
Glad it's all fixed for you now though!

Limping TL
Guys,
I forgot to say, but until October of this year, the car is still in warranty yet.
The car gets it's oil changed by me usually at 20% life on the minder and presently has Pennzoil Platinum in it.
The car has 31,000 miles on it now.

Sounds like a case of the rats! did you ask them why it failed? I had a rat chew through my engine wire harness on my Accord.
