Question A/C Blower problem 2004 TL

Good morning gents,

I have a 2004 TL Auto w/Navi with 190,000 miles. My a/c blower is failing intermittently. When it does work, everything seems fine e.g. cold air, fan speed works on all setting, etc.. Occasionally, when I get in my car and start the engine, the blower fails to turn on. I will drive down the road and after a few miles it will magically start working again. I have found that if the blower fails to work when I start the car, I can "whack" the motor with the palm of my hand and it will turn on and function properly. My questions are:

1.) Has anyone ever had this issue?
2.) How did you resolve it?
3.) How difficult is it to remove the blower motor, disassemble it, and clean/change the windings/brushes?

^^^^ I removed the blower resistor and took it apart. Found minimal corrosion, cleaned it up, and reinstalled. Problem still exists.

Then I'd jump the blower motor. If it runs fine, then I'd replace the resistor.

I have a transistor that I took out of my car that still works if you want it. I had the problem and it turned out to be the blower motor but I changed the transistor too. Mechanic said it still works, but didn't know if it would last 1 week or another 5 years. If you're interested, send me a message and you can have it just for whatever it cost to ship it, so like $6. I think I paid $60 for the new one!

^^^^^I will try to jump the blower this weekend. If the blower works, I will message you about the transistor! Thanks a bunch!
