Buy 2006 TL or not?

I test drove a 2006 TL the other day, really liked the car. The D light was flashing on the car and I get a call back from the dealer that it is the 3rd clutch pressure switch. They replaced it but I am just hesitant now. Has the transmissions issues been rectified on the 2006 TL or not. If not I will buy an Infiniti G35x but I did prefer the TL...Thanks

Salesman came back after I said I was concerned about the tranny. After he said it was rock solid he gave me the following offer, 2 years/40k powertrain for free and 3 year comprehensive for 588(reg 2048). Car is a 2006 TL a-spec body kit with 71,000km, price 25999

Sounds kind of steep for an 06. Ask if you can drive it for a few days to see if it was "fixed" or not. You can definitely find one a lot cheaper than that. You can almost get a new TSX for that price. If you do go for it, make sure what he said is in writing. Gut feeling, he's trying to get over on you.

it does seem a little steep, most 2006 tls I have seen in the GTA at Acura dealerships are going for 24's, so its not too much higher...

Keeping the crappy track reccord of Acura/Honda transmissions, i would stay away from a car that already has the D light flashing.

If I was you I would keep looking around. Be patient about it too. One will just pop up for you probably a lot cheaper than that one.

Having just replaced a Honda Pilot transmission and done a lot of research along the way, I would not buy it. A flashing "D" on the earlier 2003 era Honda's meant transmission failure for sure.

Hold out for a babied one, instead.
