Burned DRL housing-'07 Type S
So I just threw some zkw-r's into a set of 07 type s headlights, while I was doing that I noticed that the top middle part of the drl housing on both lights is slightly burned. I say 'slightly' because I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't taken the lights apart. so I don't know how long the housings have been in this condition.
in 2011 I installed a set of 128 smd 5k from ebay. now I have these much brighter bulbs from v-leds:

my drl's are wired to run whenever the car runs. I'd like to keep things as they are, especially now that I've got some osram 5k in there w/the 5k drl's () but I'm hesitant bc I don't want to cause more damage to the housings.
could the leds have burned the housing? I thought that leds aren't as hot as halogen?

thats normal. the little hazy part on the drl reflector is on nearly every headlight I've worked on. sometimes it wipes off, but sometimes not. I believe its from fumes from the stock bulb when it was new. I've worked on a lot of headlights(not just TL's) and I've literally seen brand new cars that get a slight haze inside from the fumes. It's most likely just fumes during production of the parts. Keep in mind this is in no way a form of condensation. it's simply fumes/gases that are very very slight and not noticeable unless you are very up close.
your led did not cause this, it is not caused by heat.
