Broken compartment??? It won't close....

So I take out the I-Pass from the top compartment underneath the nav system.....

When I go to close it, it won't close. The compartment drops down but doesn't click into place.

Any ideas how I can fix this? When I try to close it really slowly it sounds like it's trying but it's not holding it shut. The nearest dealer is pretty far for now, and I hate seeing that compartment open. I have an 07 TL-S.

I know there is a thread similar to this from 2 years ago... but it doesn't really help.

07 TL-S with a broken compartment? I know it isn't what you'd want to hear but I'd personally just suck it up and go back to the dealership. I can't see how you have a brand new car and already have defects (even if with excessive use, not so soon).

its very simple... while doing the carputer install the same thing happened to me. YOu have to remove the center console to get to that entire piece and take it out. On the sides you will see the assembly, maybe .5 inch by .5 inch. just push it down and try opening and closing the door then. I'll post a diy on how to remove the entire console in a few days that is very simple.
