Blinking D after replacing 3rd and 4th gear Transmision Switch
2005 TL with 170K miles.
Had transmission issues where if the car is cold and I try to drive it, it will slip into third gear and stay there until I turn the car off. Decided to replace the 3rd and 4th gear transmission switches with no problem. Since I replaced the switches, I am getting the blinking D....car is driving fine (when warm). Any ideas how to reset this or why changing the switches would have triggered this?

Did you replace fluid at the same time?

did you mix up the switches? You can get the trouble code read for the blinking D light and it'll help you narrow down the issue.

Nah didn't mix up the switches. It seemed to shift better this morning and I did not let the car warm up much. Car did not get stuck in third gear or anything. Transmission slipped a bit but what else is new. I am ok with it slipping a touch as long as it doesnt get stuck in third gear and the only solution is to restart the car.
Blinking D is definitely annoying but car does seem to be shifting better since switches were changed.
Is this something that would cause my car to not pass inspection?

You probably didn't connect everything back up right. Go and get the code read.
