Bad rear motor mount?

Hey Guys,

What are symptoms of a bad rear mount? I recently purchased my 2006 Acura TL with 90k miles. The dealer said they replaced the front mount and I'm having vibration issues at stops so I'm assuming its the rear mount. The vac lines are plugged in as they should be and no fluid is leaking. So far I replaced the side engine mount and upper transmission mount. Suframe mounts are also new. There is definitely vibration in the steering wheel still. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Kevin aka 2K6ATL

One other thing you may try is taking a look at the fasteners on the dynamic damper on the subframe, it's located on the rear crossmember. Check and make sure that they haven't loosened up.

I have an 06 TL. Did they have the damper? I thought that was only on the 04 TL.

Yes the '06 model has a dynamic damper, but only for the AT, MT does not have it. If you need to know the torque spec, I can grab that for you at work tomorrow.

Just throwing it out there but I had vibration at idle with the A/C on....after replacing motor mounts I figured out it was a bad ignition coil. The vibration was more in the engine (missing) than the steering wheel. (There are a couple threads on this if you search)

I would take front strut brace off and do a good visual inspection. These are hydraulic (oil filled) mounts and to my knowledge a failure should show leakage.

Did it throw a CEL when your coil went bad??
