Axle fell off

I was driving and my axle fell off. I have the car @ a dealership and they just tried to tell me that this is not covered under warranty. They said the only way the bolt that holds the axle in place would fall off is if someone worked on the car. Well someone has worked on the car and it was another Acura dealership. They redid the transmission because of the third gear issue and then rebuilt my clutch. Would this have anything to do with anybody doing work on my axle? i would assume so since this is the only major work I have had done to the car other than oil changes and new brakes.

Only way to pull the transmission, is to take the axles out. If you can, take it to the dealership that did the work originally. Either way, that is something that should not come out of your pocket, and I would fight it.

Thanks killersrt, as of right now i am having the Acura dealership that did the work on the car previously fax over what they did to the car at the dealership it is currently at. i wanted to make sure that when I talk to the service rep again i wanted to let him know that the only way to pull the transmission out is to take the axles out. Now as a informed customer i can fight this if they still want to not hold themselves responsible.

Holy shit PB.. it's been a while since I've seen you on the board.. and everytime you come back it's some fucked up shit, I still remember your ordeal with your MT back in the day, followed up with your wheel falling off.. yikes.. Definitely the other dealership fucked up. They probably pulled your axle without reinstalling the hardware properly. I'm guessing they didn't compress the lower ball joint with nut & cotter pin installed properly. You can tell for sure if the ball joint is still attached to the hub and not the lca.
