An audio or battery "hiccup"?

Something odd happened today. Drove the same 1hr commute from
Work to home. Installed the chrome door strips in my garage.

Then upon going out again the car made a wierd "screeching"
Sound as it started up but it started up nonetheless.

Went to a strip mall down the street and stopped the car and
Went into the mall for 5 mins.

Now here's the wierd part, started the car up again and
Again a shorter screeching sound but this time all the radio
Presets were erased. FM Xm Am all presets gone. It
Didn't prompt me to enter any codes. So I drove for
5 mins and stopped the car and waited about 20mins. Got
In again and this time no screeching sound on startup but
The presets were back. All stations back to normal.

Odd. Sounds like aliens messing with my TL!!!!

Any ideas????

Battery.. I'm guessing you left the radio on while you were doing the side chrome strips. Or in the least left the doors open or used the battery to roll down one or two of the windows.. the OE batteries are crap, get a decent aftermarket one or at least get a new OE battery.
