Anyone know whats going on with my TL?

This has probably been put on here before but i cant find it. I was wondering if anyone knows whats going on with my 2005 TL.

It runs great through all the gears most of the time, but every now and then when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear its like the entire car will start to shake. Once it shifts it goes back to normal and usually doesnt do it again for a little while, but the ENTIRE car will shake when this happens. Kinda scary haha.

It is a 2005 AUTO. I have an extended warranty on it for another 2000 miles or so, just seeing if I could find out any information on here before i brought it to the dealership.

This is a transmission issue. I've had the same problem and my extended warranty covered a new transmission. Problem was solved right away.

search for the transmission pressure switches. this will likely fix your problem. its best to DIY or go to an indy shop. the dealer will bang you over the head and say it wont work and yadda yadda yadda. they want you to spend the most amount of money which would be a new tranny.

Do all/most extended warranties cover tranny issues? I got mine through a credit union from which I got my loan from. Thanks in advanced.

Really, this again? Search! There's no way you searched and missed it. This is a very popular topic. There are two very cheap, very simple fixes if you do them soon enough. If not you will need a new trans.

i think it could be the pressure switches, but if ur warranty covers a new tranny might as well go with a new tranny and also replace the switches for the ideal repair

Thanks guys ill have to look it up and see. I know my warranty would cover a new tranny if thats what it needed. Ill prolly take it up to the dealership next week sometime and have them look at it.
