Anyone ever have this piece fall off of their car?

For most of us, the cap's plastic extension with slot breaks off so that the metal base tab cannot hold onto that side of the cap. In your photo above, the right side of the cap where "prongs" stick out should actually be a rectangular plastic piece with a slot in the middle.
These plastic handle caps will last a few years, but eventually fail-- my two on the passenger side are originals. The TSB is only for those cars with defective bases (where the tab is too short, IIRC).
It's @ $16 for each cap and base set, but I only need the caps.

Happened to me before when I was using my porter cable to polish the paint. barely touched the handle and it popped right off. replaced 3 years ago and has been fine since. Im just real careful when polishing around the handles now.
I went ahead and bought two of them and done the door lock mod also.

I thought about gorilla glue, but that stuff expands once it dries and I don't really want to risk getting gorilla glue on the cars paint. So as I understand, the right side of this picture:
....is supposed to be a rectangle where the tab slides in as opposed to looking like a "u"?
If there was a TSB for this, why wouldn't they honor it?

out of warranty^^ the dealer nor acura have to pay for anything if they don't want to. the TSB's are there to give an easy how to manual/"we know this is a common thing" fix it guide for the tech's so they don't have to run around trying to figure out the problem (this one is obvious). TSB's are not safety recalls (which are covered by acura).
so unless you have an extended acuracare warranty acura or the dealer have no obligation to fix it for you. if you have a working relationship with your dealer and you are out of warranty, they migh tbe more willing to try and help you out and get it good willed either by acura or the dealer.
it might just be easier to buy the part and then pop the new pieces in yourself.
