For all those with Dash Fade

For all those with Dash Fade
I found out the contact info of the dash manufacturer so that those that are interested can get some info as to what they reccomend to combat this dash fade we have (and those that don't yet, will soon have).
Also, it would be good to ask if they corrected the problem so that we can get the new dashes installed.

Anyone who can get ahold of someone with some answers please post them to this thread for everyone.
Dash fading after several months of ownership is ridiculus.

I will definitely be posting their response to me when I get ahold of them DURING BUSINESS HOURS.

Also see this thread about dash fade in which you have also posted. and this thread titled WTF!? Dash fading!
I thought about merging these threads together, but then yours would have gotten lost in them, so I will leave them separated but give the links here.
And I was also thinking about moving this to Problems & Fixes, and you have motivated me to do the move, so I deleted your new thread there.

Ok, called them up and spoke to Angie. After they told me to call Honda or the dealer and I told them that this is an issue that those people don't have a solution for, they reverted to saying that they don't build the dash or stock them there. Nevertheless, they are the manufacurer because the receptionist transferred me to the department for Acura Tl dashboard/components.
This pisses me off. Others call and see what you info you can get. I'm not letting this one by, if this dash is not fixed/replaced there will be a BBB claim on it.

For those thinking of replacing dash
As I have posted previously, one of my co-worker's had her dash replaced two months ago due to the fading. Just drove her car today and there are no rattles, creaks, etc due to the replacement. HOWEVER, her dash is fading AGAIN. I thought mine was bad, hers looks horrible. Some areas look totally white, others grey, others black. Her car is parked in the sun during the day with no sunshade but still....
At this point, I meet with the DPSM on the 22nd but don't know what they will do.
Luxury, near-luxury, whatever. I would not accept this on a $15K Hyundai, let alone a $35K Acura.

i called and got the same response " call acura, we don't warranty that product, nor do we stock it any more." this is a bunch of crap!!!! what have other people found out? i'm not always the nicest person on the phone so maybe some other people can get a better response.

I am getting my dash replaced this week, more for the waviness over the airbag than the fade. I must say my is gray and not black.
Pretty sad. Hope my new dash holds up. Hopefully we will get an answer on how to keep it black. I am sure the manufacturer is going to pass all these claims on to Acura and Acura will have to deal with its customers.

Just got back from the dealership with my new dash. VERY diappointed. The dash still has the marks and indentions in them as my old dash did. This one has a new set of marks and lines. Also some of the trim pieces that fit so nicely before now have gaps. One piece ( under and to the right of the steering wheel) fell off whie I was driving. the plastic clips were deformed.
Overall I am sorry I did it. The only good thing is it is slightly darker than the first one, but who knows how long that will last.

Thats like asking what the service will be like at the corner mexican restaurant. It all depends on the tech you get, get one that cares about your ride and you should be ok, on the other hand, get one who moves from dealer to dealer and who just got dumped by his gf last night and you will be sorry you did it.
On another note, I figured I named this thread imprecisely, it shouldnt read "For all those WITH DASH FADE", it should read, "For all those THAT OWN A TL"

This is just not the case of a tech having a bad day. The new dash I received still has quality issues. The indentions are still over the passenger airbag. Now I have lines where the air bag will pop out, that I did not previously have. This new dash also has milky spots on I cannot seem to remove with 303 or vinylex. There are lines in the dimpled section that look terrible . Acura should be ashamed of this quality. From inside this is the most visible part of the car.
Not sure what to do next. The SM seems willing but has already stated that there is no guarantee the next dash won't be the same. Pretty frustrated right now.

I feel your pain, tell them that you are unhappy with the dash and that you would like for it to be replaced with a quality one. Inspect the new one before it is installed and meet the tesh who is going to install it and ask him for his best effort in making it look like new.
Good luck

JFP:
Jefferson industries seems unwillign to talk to the end user, thus, since ur SM is willing, ask to sit down with him and call up jefferson and ask whether or not a new dash that wont fade is under works.
that information would GREATLY help your fellow TLers with similar problems
let us know what you come up with and good luck!
