Acura transmission fix
So I did research on my transmission. I have 3rd gen tl 04 . First off my transmission was replaced at 130,000 miles . It was shifting real hard until one day it just gave out . Now I put a used Tranny in and recently maybe 10,000 miles ago my new Tranny started doing the same thing . It takes forever to go in drive , it shifts really hard and it has this weird shutter to it when it shifts from 1-2 oh and also only if you are in 2nd and you hit it to pass someone it won't downshift into 1st its like you throw it in nuetral . Just revs and slows down , let off the gas it will go back in gear in 2nd and go . So I've done research because I refuse to pay for another Tranny ! So find out that the solenoids are supposed to be changed at 75-100,000 miles !!!!! My car has 156,000 and I've never changed them . So I decided to research them now the car actually has 4 of the shift solenoids on it I only ordered 2 because I didn't know it had that many so I put the 2 in it and cleaned the screams on the other 2 put it all back together and its perfect my car is like new!!!!! Yay I'm so happy!!!!! Supposedly the solenoids go out get stuck or whatever and when they do this your Tranny starves for fluid because the solenoids is what feeds the cluchtes the fluid!!! Thn the trans over heats and gives out!!! I recommend if you have a 3rd gen tl have all your solenoids replaced it is a great investment very happy here my cars like new again

Ryan are you talking about the transmission switches 3/4? I think the tranny has both, but not sure. I do know on a another thread the switches made the biggest difference, not to mention a 3x3

just read on your post "screams" (screens) so must be different has anybody replaced switches and cleaned screens on solenoids... which showed more of improvement ...again Im guessing it depends on the mechanical issue, for me its the studder/shudder between 2-4 gears

This should be common knowledge, and new ones aren't necessarily needed. I'd suggest "cleaning" them first rather than bear the cost burden of new ones.
