Acura TL Type S brembo calipers piston seized?
Hi everyone.
Notice some shaking when I brake over 30 a while back and figured my rotors were warped. So I did a brake pads and rotors changed. Changed everything and still shaking. Looked up any if people have the same issue and found it might be a seized piston or a piston that doesn't fully come out. I figured I can change the seals and clean the pistons. Doesn't seem too difficult to take off the caliper, but just curious if I clamp the brake hose or just let it drain. Any opinions or information will help.

Never ever clamp brake hoses in any vehicle.........
That's just some backyard redneck mechanic shit.
Always plug brake hoses, in any vehicle not just the TL
Grab a infrared thermometer and check temps of rotos after a drive. If one side is hotter than the other, most likely sticking caliper dragging and causing friction

They all went down, but one was a little more tensioned and had to push it down a little harder.

I should of noted that my friend did just my pads the last time and they was a crap ton of this sticky purple brake grease.

Once you feel any tension, usually good time to replace caliper before it eats your pads n rotors. They are usually $50 for a rebuilt. Good luck if it's the Brembos. But they can be rebuilt with some seals. Rear brakes dont cause as much shaking they usually create heat and noise. Front end is where most shaking is coming from.

If the piston(s) are sticking it's from condensation that usually attacks the lower piston(s) and there will be evidence of contamination when the bore(s) are inspected. Take care when removing the pistons and depending on method used, keep a rag or piece of wood between the pistons for protection. Use fine crocus cloth on the bores to remove the buildup, clean thoroughly with lots of brake clean and use brake fluid as lubricate when doing the installation of parts.

Okay fellas got everything back up and running.Pistons came out smooth and no issues at all. However I am experiencing a new problem. The brake pedal is soft when I step and my vsa light came on with the \!/ on the dash. Any ideas? I have around 58k miles 08 tls

Soft brake pedal might be an indication of having air in one of your brake lines. Bleed the brakes again and make sure the air stays out. Easy enough to do. Watch a few YouTube videos on how to bleed your brakes by yourself. The hardest part is getting your wheel off. Seriously. It's that easy.

Just to be clear bane, the brake system is a closed loop until you opened it by removing the caliper from the line. You should bleed your brakes each time that you perform brake maintenance that opens the lines to air (regardless of whether you "cap" the line) or you will get the soft pedal problem every time.
