Angry Acura 101 West Lies!!!

Bought my TL in August 2005 in Calabasas, CA. Part of the deal was first two oil changes free and free detail. Got my first oil change free in June 2006,(I really have low miles, 10K in a year and a half!) So now it's April 2007 time for oil change number two, told them I wanted my free detail also...guess what? Said they have no record of this promise. General Manager won't come to the phone and won't return my calls! Service Manager very flip, told me, "It's not gonna happen, man."

I love my TL. Will probably buy another one. Won't go near Acura 101 West in Calabasas, CA.

Anyone know who I can telephone or write to up the chain of command in the Acura Honda hierarchy?

Also would like a recommendation for a honest and reputable mechanic in or near the West San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County. Thanks very much.

Mark

Did you get it in writing?

The general assumption on THEIR part of a sale, with oil change and detail tossed in
that MOST people would be in every 3 or 4 months for the oil change and not a year later
for the first one.

You should be changing on time not miles since you probably take short trips as well

You can complain to acura corp but they were essentially offering a goodwill gesture to you.
Again- only things in writing count.

My Service Manager said that he put a note in the computer records for my account
for a free detail and oil change, whenever I want to use them after the weather gets nice

I dont plan to use it- but is it really there???????????? Now I wonder!

If it's not in writing or in its database, I assume that the dealership won't honor it.
The most effective way to deal with this is probably to write to the ownership of the dealer, with a copy to Acura and the dealer's GM.
I haven't heard much good about the service dept. at Keyes Acura in Van Nuys, and my one [unsatisfactory] experience with it was in the 1990s.
Maybe the dealership in Valencia is better. G/L.
