Accord auto trans in 06 tl

I cant seem to find a post on this. Only can find a post on 00-02 tl with the accord trans swaps. Is this possible to do? I heard from someone that an 07 accord 3.0 trans will work in my 06 tl. Is this true and do I need to swap anything from my trans to the accord trans? Will the hybrid work? Also will the torque converter work as well from the accord?? Any help will be awesome! Thanks!

Here is a good read on what you are looking for. The torque converter will work. I am in the process of rebuilding my 2004 Acura TL BDGA 5 speed transmission now. I decided to go full rebuild instead of accord 06 07 swap.

Im looking into the accord swap because the best price I found for a TL trans was around $1000 with 100,000 plus miles on it. Is the accord trans built stronger?

They updated a few things on the Accord transmissions but a lot of the problems were caused by failing pressure sensors on older transmissions including the 04-06 TL's. I don't know exactly what was changed on the newer accord transmissions.

i believe the accord trans was updated to the same as the 07-08 TL trans, 4 shafts instead of 3

The accord trans looks completely identical to th 04 to 06 TL transmission it still has 3 shafts and must part numbers are the exact same even the clutch bell housing but the main case has been changed slightly and the part numbers on the gears are different. From the parts diagrams they look identical.

the 07 accord transmission was the case redesign to allow for more oil flow... starting in 2008 any previous 5AT that was rebuilt by Honda/Acura has the new case. Transmissions are electrically identical to the car. the Accord trans has slightly different gearing. One of the problems they did not correct was relocation of the internal filter that can still get clogged and that is a PITA to replace (trans out of car and taken apart). Transmission also has a lot of strainers that can get clogged up as well in various passages...
