2008 TLS shifts slow into 3rd and 4th gear
I have a 2008 TLS and when I drive it in manual mode the rpm goes up then then transmission grabs should I replace the 3rd and 4th switches and if so what's the parts number

Just to be clear you have an auto trans but in manual mode; What gear are you starting from when it revs and what gear is it slamming in to (gear or gears); what about down shifts; full disclosure in comprehensive detail plz?

1. 3RD and 4TH clutch pressure switches.
2. Shift C solenoid.
3. Pressure C solenoid. Check for debris at the end of the 2 small pipes. Inspect O-rings, pipes, and gaskets for wear or damage. Anything that is not sealing is defective. That would cause lost of valuable line pressure.
4. Pressure A/B solenoids. See #3 but 3 pipes instead of 2.
#8 Pressure A/B solenoids
#10 Pressure C solenoid
#13 4TH clutch pressure switches
#14 3RD clutch pressure switch
#17 Shift C solenoid

Eastcoastguy could be right. In manual mode the trans will hold the gear longer and not shift until the trans is ready. If it shifts good in auto mode I would be skeptical that you really have a problem. Duf

Doing the fluid and pressure sensors though is still good maintenance though!

Um.. how about try #13 on the parts diagram.. OEM Acura TL SEDAN 2008 AT SENSOR - SOLENOID parts
We even have a DIY in our garage with the parts list: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-p...-08-tl-840630/
Do you even have a 3rd gen TL? How can you speak so confidently about something you don't have and are obviously not familiar with?

I don't even own a 3g TL. I know this why don't you?

Just because it shares the same part number it doesn't make it two 3rd clutch pressure switch. The two 3rd gear switch you are referring to is actually the 2nd and 3rd clutch pressure switch. They just happen to be the same part.

In other words, you're talking out of your ass and again of what you don't know. Do you not see the the DIY i posted? As part of preventative maintenance, we are replacing all the pressure switches. 04-06 TL's have 1 3rd and 1 4th switch. When the 07 MMC came around, they changed transmissions and for simplicity's sake the DIY was created and it was calling for 3 pressure switches: 2 of the ones for the 3rd clutch, and 1 for 4th clutch.
Semantics aside, whether or not it's for the 2nd or 3rd clutch, it needs to be replaced, so are you arguing just for the sake of arguing and not knowing how to admit when you're wrong?
Stick with what you know

Nice deflection by the way

It's not BS. Anybody can go to the dealership and confirm. So the 3g TL has two 3rd gears. WOW?!

From limited experience in my wagon (and autos in general)...there's definitely a delay when I jump from manual mode over to full auto again...
I think that's done to protect the transmission and help have a second to apply the electronic logics without fucking up the mechanical how tos.

talk about butthurt..
I'm pretty sure this isn't the first thread where you tell members to throw parts at the car.
OP, don't throw parts at your car. Always lowest common denominator.
There shouldn't be a great delay. But if it's only in manual mode. I'd start the chain from there.
A video of what you're observing would be nice.

It's not the logic, but it could be something along the way
the fact that OP only notices in manual mode just might mean it's early in the progression of things mechanically

He is the Acura GOD man, don't you dare arguing with GOD. OP there always a delay in shifting in manual mode, new switches help shifting crisp and clean in AT mode.

Which one is the Toruqe Converter Clutch Solenoid here? According to my research, I assume it is one of the 4 circled in the photo here. Shift Solenoid valve A, B, C, D? ( If it is one of them, I also think it is C or D?) Does anyone know this? I am getting the code P0741 - Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance/Stuck off. I drive a 2008 Acura TL 3.2
