2008 TL Fog Light Question

So I have fog lights in the bumper, however the fog lights in the headlight which are the inner portion do not turn on.
Is this something the previous owner would have messed with or did it come from the factory like this? Asking since idk what these were like OEM.
My goal was to wire both the fog lights up in the bumper and headlight to work.

Headlight bulbs are DRL, not fogs

There's two headlight bulbs in housing. the inner headlight it's a 9005 halogen bulb, at least that's what I found in it. That inner one is definitely a fog light on some other models.

The inner one was a fog light from 2004-06 in the US. But those models didn't have any fog lights in the bumper. In Canada, the halogen lights in the headlight assembly were DRLs.

In the 2007-08 models, all the lighting set up was the same. Hid headlight bulb, DRL bulb in headlight assembly, and fog lights in the bumper.

Thanks for the info.
Well so the fog light in the headlights has wires to it and everything. Wondering why it doesn't work though

DRLs are the inner headlight bulbs? But mine do not turn on. They seem disabled or broken. The high and low beam all come from the outer one which is HID I believe.

DRL's
With the headlight switch off, the daytime running lights come on when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position and release the parking brake. They remain on until you turn the ignition off, even if you set the parking brake.

from the owners manual:

Okay yeah. But I'm talking about the inner headlight bulb. The one closest to the center. They don't turn on for me. It's not the bulb. I'm wondering if it's disabled or something.
Any other 08 TL owners out there that have looked at their headlights while on would understand my question

right, it's a DRL. or Day Time Running Lights.
with the headlight switch off, and ignition on, they should come on per the owners manual.

if they dont... you got yourself a problem that you'll need to troubleshoot.

so, go check...

with the headlight switch OFF, turn the ignition ON! The Owners manual states to release the Parking brake...so not sure if the parking brake needs to be up...

I know in older cars, the parking brake was kind of a trick to get the DRLs to stay off.

Most likely have the DRL light in your dash and the DRL stopped working. Common on this car.
