Hi there,

I just bought this 2008 Acura TL back in February and I've realized that the center console (where the handrest and storage is) tends to move. This is that whole plastic piece. When I lift it from the back, I'm able to do so with ease. Do you guys know what I can do to fix the problem?


As well, I have a problem with the Mirrors - ever since I bought this used car from the Acura Dealership (has an extra 2 year warranty), it makes a weird shrugging noise when I put the car into reverse...what is the issue?

Sounds like the piece that you're talking about that moves is #9. If so, #22 & #28 are what hold the rear down. Somebody must have disassembled that part before and didn't put the screws back on. Pull out the rubber mat #19 and then unscrew the plasic lid #20 and look to see if the screws are there.

 

As far as the mirrors, this is a common problem in the TLs.

Just take it in for warranty work.

 

thats funny, i got a 2008 TL back in February too and the arm rest was loose and the driver side mirror shutters when i put it in reverse. i noticed that 2 screws that holds the arm rest door in place is missing, i guess somebody replaced it and didnt put all the screws back on.

 

Put your car in reverse adjust your mirror down to see the curb/ground put in park or drive & they will return to normal... Can choose with between mirrors w/ switch... Sorry if you already knew this & its not the problem just that you said you barely got your car in February & it still might be kinda new to you...

 

Check the screw under rubber mat in center console.
As far as mirrors TL LUVER solution works.
