2007 Acura TL Type-S door handle removal

My paint and body guy is doing a re-spray on my car and he’s having a hard time getting the doorhandles removed. Can anyone point me to a reference document or video that shows how this is done? He said he’s a researched it and nothing seems to match up to work so far.

i suppose that might be true if I rated his work on the ability to get a door handle removed. Fortunately I don’t value door handle removal above prep and finish quality of work. But thank you for your useless reply.

I agree with crabby. When I was painting cars, I would never have told the customer I didn't know how to take the door handle off.

but part of prep work is properly removing things that need to be removed to do his job properly

I believe he has to remove the entire door panel to get to the exterior door handle .

folliwing up, he had the door panel off, along with the 10mm bolts out. He is telling me it’s still not coming off. All I can think is it might be a really sticky gasket on a black car with 10 years of sun, unless there is something else holding it in place. He was Being cautious so as to not break something.

Do you have a Haynes manual you could bring him so that he can take it off?

Haynes manual.. is this a 91 civic? Perhaps an 87 Mustang? Probably the same manual for both.

Did the other 3 handles come off, or is this the first one?
A heat gun might soften the gasket where it could be pried off--but be careful not to scratch the paint.
Oh, wait...

See, I can do both.
