2006 Acura TL Transmission issue

I was driving my 2006 Acura TL yesterday and while taking off after the light turned green the car did not move, it sounded like the car was in neutral but it was in drive gear. I couldn't move, I tried shifting to reverse trying to trigger something but no response. I switched to the lower gears and nothing. I put it on parking and then back to drive, and nothing. It was embarrassing, people started blowing their horns so I had to turn the hazard lights because the car would not move. I kept trying and finally was able to get it going and went back home. I bought this car used but the previous owner stated that a transmission service was done. This is not the first time this has happened but this time was the worst. Any advice?

If OP can shift back to P then the axle would be out of question, sound like the previous owner know about this. OP bring the car to a local trusted shop for further diagnostic.
