2006 Acura TL

two days ago i was driving on the freeway and all of the sudden i see a blinking light the "D" light was flashing and the check engine light came on. and i see smoke coming from the back so i took the next exit to see what was going. so i pooped my hood and all i see is trans fluid all over the transmission and on the driver side rim trans fluid too. so i went to buy trans fluid and put it on. but now the car goes but then all of the sudden it drives and then it wont almost like if it went to neutral. so i try to turn it off for about 10 sec and start it back up and it drives. but shifting wise its a little bit rough.

#.1 Do not drive the car any further until you figure out why it spewed transmission fluid.

loose fill bolt?
Missing trans dipstick?

if you did drive it without fluid or very little fluid, it could need a rebuild, replacement. put in fluid asap, dont drive the car, have it towed, especially if its something more serious like a cracked case. the problem youre describing sounds like the trans is dead, sorry bro.

well it hasnt leaked any trans fluid. since i put some on it. but i took it out for i drive and the car drives it goes first gear second and third but then it goes like in neutral. so i just turn off the car and wait a lil bit and turn it back on and the car goes for a bit and it does it again.
