Having a strange problem with my 5AT TL (74k miles). My transmission begin slipping about a week ago I had the trans oil done about a year ago so the thought of changing it this soon again didn't even cross my mind. I checked the dipstick and the transmission had ZERO fluid. I put about 3 quarts of Honda trans fluid and within a day, it was gone. We narrowed it down to the axle...the left wheel axle literally popped out and there was no seal, so the trans oil was leaking out as I drove around. I had the seal replaced, and topped with transmission oil. The car is actually shifting fine but there is a strange grinding sound that is pretty noticeable after 40mph. The best way to describe it is like having a piece of paper on top of a spinning fan. It doesn't sound harsh, its actually very faint, but it gets progressively louder as the speed increases. It made the same sound before I took the car into the shop for the seal replacement so I'm pretty lost as to what it is. Any ideas?

Mine is doing the same, 2006/AT with 50K /drivetrain has never been touched, other than that, everything is fine. Any idea?
