Could be many things (like low charge) but the car has a history of compressor clutch wearout/failures. There's also a relay that controls the compressor clutch that often gets replaced but IMO that's usually a precursor of a comp clutch developing an issue. One thing you can do if you are comfortable with working on cars is to try and jump the compressor relay to see if the system will engage. This is not a fix, just to help diagnose if it's a compressor clutch issue. If the compressor engages when you jump the relay then it could be the relay itself but it could also be low charge too. The relay is cheap so you could then just try replacing it and hope it works. Do not try and just put freon in it as some may recommend. Evaluating charge really should be done with proper gauge set so if you aren't comfortable with any of this then bring it to a pro.
Here is a post with discussion of the system and exactly what to jump. https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-p...engage-933847/

I have a replacement compressor assy, not denso, but one that worked well before my transmission died. I would be willing to sell/ship it your way if you would like to go that route too. Let me know.
